Student Builder Pack

The Student Builder Pack is a curated set of resources for students who want to build on Flare.

It turns existing skills (especially EVM and frontend experience) into concrete projects, bounties, and hacks.

What’s inside

  • Slide decks — intro talks you can run at your campus:
    • "Why Flare?" — network overview and use cases.
    • "FTSO 101" — how the Flare Time Series Oracle works.
    • "Data connectors" — bringing external data on-chain.
  • Workshop templates
    • 60–90 minute guided sessions with example repos and exercises.
  • Event checklists
    • Ready-to-use templates for meetups, study groups, and mini-hackathons.
  • Communication assets
    • Brand-safe visuals, social posts, and printables.

Learning path

  1. Foundations
    • Review the "Why Flare?" and "FTSO 101" decks.
    • Complete a basic tutorial that reads from and writes to the FTSO.
  2. EVM skills to Flare
    • If you already know Solidity, focus on:
      • Differences and similarities when deploying to Flare.
      • How to integrate Flare-specific data feeds.
  3. AI x Flare (optional track)
    • Explore how verifiable data and AI can work together.
    • Look for bounties or Instagrants that use AI tooling with Flare data.
  4. Ship something small
    • A dashboard, a tool, a simple dApp, or a piece of content.
    • Log your proof-of-work and share it at a meetup or online.

Using the pack on campus

  • Ambassadors and club leaders can:
    • Run intro sessions using the decks.
    • Host a multi-week series where each week progresses a project.
    • Base hackathon prompts on the example integrations.
  • Participants should:
    • Fork the starter projects and adapt them.
    • Document their journey and outcomes.

Getting access

  • Ambassadors automatically receive the latest version once accepted.
  • Other students can request access through the Flarehub support channels or by collaborating with an ambassador.

Next steps

  • Students: ask your local ambassador or community lead for the current Builder Pack.
  • Ambassadors: tailor the pack to your campus (local language, time zone, skill level) and share your modifications back with the network.
  • Stewards: keep the pack updated and aligned with Flare’s technical roadmap.
